About ITS Team Sapuangin

Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember is the one of the most prestigious campus in Indonesia since 1957. Located in Surabaya, our campus have been known for its breakthrough in the world science and engineering. Most of our research focuses on issues concerning energy saving, primarily in the usage of fossils fuels, and also take a part of Formula Technology research in automotive industry. As solution to this particular issue, ITS Team sapuangin, a team consisting ITS finest students, was formed in 2009. Until Now, we have compete in 4 Competition and won a lot of Trophies. All of those competition are Indonesia Energy Marathon Challenge, Kontes Mobil Hemat Energi, Shell Eco-Marathon, and Student Formula Japan.

KMHE

Kontes Mobil Hemat Energi

KMHE is an event organized by DIKTI on a national scale, annually competing students' car creations from various higher education institutions. KMHE is oriented towards the energy efficiency of the student design car from the application of science received during the lecture. The race is divided into two categories based on vehicle category, namely Urban and Prototype. Cars in the KMHE competition are divided based on the movers used, among them Motor Fuel (gasoline, diesel and ethanol), and Electric Motors.

SEM

Shell Eco Marathon

Shell Eco Marathon Asia is an annual competition sponsored by Shell as their social responsibility on freen technology development. The competition requires student eams to design and builld the most energy-efficient vehicle. The winners are the teams hat go the furthest using the least amount of energy.

Drivers’ World Championship

Drivers’ World Championship

The Shell Eco-marathon Drivers’ World Championship (DWC) is a competition for the world’s best UrbanConcept teams that will come together in the same location competing in an exciting race to see who is the world fastest energy-efficient driver.

The DWC is linked to Shell Eco-marathon because competing teams have to qualify via the official regional Shell Eco-marathon Mileage Challenges in Asia, Americas and Europe. In each region, the 12 teams selected to participate in the DWC Regional will be the best 4 teams from each energy class in the Shell Eco-marathon Mileage Challenge.

FSAE

Student Formula Japan

Student Formula Japan (SFJ) is an opportunity for students to develop skills for object creation "MONO-ZUKURI", which in turn contributes to the expansion of the Japanese automotive industry. This competition was started in 2003 as a public activity for self-motivated students to cultivate various skills involved with object creation, and as training for those who will one day play critical roles in the future of the automotive industry.

How We Work

1. discuss

We discuss from book reference and engineering journal with team members and ask to the advisor or engineer company who have cooperated with us for the recomendation.

2. sketch

The fix design will be moved to the digital using engineering 2D & 3D software. So we can analyze the detail of part and stimulate it.

3. build

As long as manufacturing build of the car, we divide the work of each division such as body, electrical, engine & drivetrain, and vehicle dynamic but we still collaborate each division itself.

4. Evaluate

After manufacture the car, we evaluate car by testing the car and checking minus factor to finished all.

5. launch

People need to know our innovation of the team, then we create the event to launch the car in the public place. We always sharing about our car to the society.

6. race

In this step, we have prepared car for the national and international competition to reach our dream. Be the top of the world.
